Daniel Webster (January 18, 1782 – October 24, 1852) was an American lawyer and statesman who represented New Hampshire and Massachusetts in the U.S. Congress and served as the U.S. Secretary of State under Presidents William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, and Millard Fillmore. David B. Ogden was born on October 31, 1775 in Morrisania, New York. He was admitted to the bar as an attorney in 1796 and as a counselor in 1799. He settled in New York City where he set up a law practice. David B. Ogden married Margaretta Ogden and they had eight children together. He died on Staten Island, New York on July 16, 1849.
